      David H. Angolano
David started his career in public accounting in 1969 with the firm of Jay H. Gordon in Montpelier, VT.  In 1973 he took the position of Chief Financial Officer at Gifford Memorial Hospital.  During that time, he did a term as President of the NH-VT Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and was licensed as both a Registered Public Accountant and a Certified Public Accountant.  In 1979 he took the position of Vice President of U.S. Operations for the international company Garmont Sports.

In 1981 he started the firm David H. Angolano, CPA which evolved into Angolano & Company.  At the same time, he became the CPA for the State of Vermont Agency of Human Services and Principal Assistant to the Director of the Division of Rate Setting.  While there, he assisted in the drafting of health care legislation and regulations, served as an expert witness for the State, assisted with the formation of the Hospital Data Council and served on the Council and the Health and Education Finance Agency as designee of the Secretary of Human Services.

In 1990 David was appointed by Governor Kunin to the Higher Education Study Committee (Hines Commission) to review how Vermont Colleges were funded and recommend improvements to how Vermont students could gain access to an affordable college education.

In 1997 David became a Diplomat of the American Board of Forensic Accounting and is now a Fellow with the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute.  Also in 1997 David received a Certificate of Educational Achievement in tax from the AICPA.  In addition to this certificate, David holds an Associate of Science degree in Accounting from Champlain College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Norwich University and performed graduate work at Boston University.

Over the years, David has also served on various Boards.

Outside of work, David enjoys traveling, outdoor photography, golf, and building scale models of ships.

Little known fact: David had his first photo journalism article published by Ships in Scale magazine Volume VII, Number 2, March/April 1996 title “Lake Champlain Fleets”.  He has also been awarded two outstanding achievements in photography by the International Association of Photographers.
